hey! so because i’ve actually made way too many sketchbooks for my own good and i’m starting to pack up my things to move on out of here soon, i’m having a SALE on my etsy.

free shipping on $15+ orders!

i’ve added various things, including these cute little paint chip notepads for only $5! so come help me tidy up the place and give these books a new home!

shop link here !!

as promised, here’s the gifset from my cup video
the top gif looks a little dancey. (ノ゚▽゚)ノ

this past year or so, i would draw on my cup of tea while i’d wait at the coffeehouse between classes or at a nearby starbucks while people watching. after i realized i had a lot of doodled cups (about 23 total) of all sizes, i thought i’d make them come alive in a cute little stop motion video. the song is called ardeleane by gheorghe zamfir.
i’ll make a lil gifset of this soon. *v*

3am selfie, trying out some things.

Anonymous asked: Hey, could you do like a how-to on how to make a sketch book? I'm really interested in making them especially when you said you think they're cheaper! Thanks!

It’s something I’ve considered doing but I’m really bad at the whole tutorial thing. (Stage fright forever). But a good place to start is the coptic stitch bind. That was the first binding I ever learned and my favorite binding to play around with. SeaLemon on youtube has binding great tutorials too! Good luck!

Anonymous asked: also, (same person here) how did you practice drawing with a pen instead of a pencil? im afraid of making a huge mistake and not being able to erase it properly. sorry for the word vomit!

No worries, anon! Thank you so much! I’ll just answer both things in here if that’s ok. I always use a reference. Especially when working in a larger scale. My computer is full of all kinds of awkward pictures of myself that I use for references. It doesn’t mean you don’t have an imagination because that’s where the concept and idea of your piece comes from. The model just helps get the message across by making it as accurate as possible with lighting and proportions and such. I stopped using pencil regularly in my sketchbooks a long time ago and I have become more confident with using permanent media ever since. You can’t really mess up in a sketchbook. It’s yours to grow and learn from your mistakes with. Scribble things out and try again until you get it right or even leave the mistakes there to look back on. Whatever makes you most comfortable. Good luck, anonfriend!

Anonymous asked: HEY !! i love art and would love to do something to do with it in my career but there are no sustainable jobs, i continually tell my self to just go ahead and follow my dream but I don't want to fail and live in bad circumstances. i love art but I'm getting nervous about what i want to do. ( what are you doing or going to do in the future & what are some jobs i can look into) thank you sooo much :) xxx

Hi anon! In all honesty, I do not have an exact plan for my future. Nothing is set in stone and that scares the shit out of me sometimes. Everyone’s idea of success is different, too. I see a lot of art students and graduates running projects and kickstarters where they sell their work and ideas and I consider them successful among their community. Never be afraid of failure (sometimes I wish I can take my own advice heh) as long as you work hard and press on, opportunities will always present themselves. Good luck!
